Patagonia – Puerto Natales
Previously, the journey to Torres del Paine or Puerto Natales included a flight from Santiago to Punta Arenas followed by a 3-4 hour drive. However, beginning on December 6th of this year, Puerto Natales Airport expanded their runway to allow the arrival of commercial flights. This means that you can now arrive to downtown Puerto Natales in less than 15 minutes from the airport or go directly into Torres del Paine National Park in less than an hour from when you leave the airport.
This new arrangement will help reduce the amount of driving time for thousands of passengers arriving to Torres del Paine National Park. It should be noted though, that for the first year, the flights will only operate during the summer season. Here are the flight schedules:
LAN Airlines:
SCL (Santiago) to PNT (Puerto Natales) – Direct
PNT (Puerto Natales) to SCL (Santiago) – 1 connection in Punta Arenas
December 6, 2016 – February 25, 2017
Flights operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays
Sky Airlines:
SCL (Santiago) – PNT (Puerto Natales) – Direct
