After an early breakfast, transfer to the station and board the KTX high-speed train to Gyeongju. On arrival, continue by private car into the city, once the capital of the Silla Kingdom and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its extraordinary collection of historic sites.
Begin with a visit to the Seokguram Grotto and Bulguksa Temple, a remarkable complex of Buddhist architecture from the Silla period, known for its intricate carvings, wooden halls, and stone terraces. Then explore the Gyeongju National Museum, home to a vast collection of Silla-era artefacts and royal treasures. Continue to the Daereungwon Tomb Complex, where grassy burial mounds contain the remains of Silla royalty and nobles. Step inside the Cheonmachong Tomb to see how these tombs were constructed.

Return to Gyeongju for a brief rest, then head out in the afternoon for a hike on Namsan Mountain, an area rich in cultural heritage and natural beauty. Follow a three-hour trail past stone Buddha statues, pagodas, and the remains of ancient temples. Pause along the way to admire the views and cultural relics. Time your descent to catch the sunset before returning to your hotel.
Say goodbye to Gyeongju and travel to Busan, where you will begin your introduction with a visit to the Modern History Museum, offering insight into the city’s turbulent past.
