Day 1: Arrive in Geneva, Transfer to Champéry

Welcome to Switzerland! Upon arrival in Geneva, you’ll be met by your private driver and transferred two hours to the village of Champéry. Located in the heart of Switzerland’s Chablais region and the “Les Portes du Soleil” ski area, this picturesque mountain village has maintained much of its traditional architecture and charm. Its quaint streets are lined with traditional chalets, delightful shops, plenty of cafes, bars, and restaurants that beckon passersby with their cozy outdoor seating, adorned with blankets and heat lamps.

The Hotel Le National is centrally located in Champéry within walking distance from Champéry-Croix de Culet Cable Car and close to Galeries Defago Trail. The hotel is within close proximity of Champéry Ski Resort. All 25 guestrooms have private balconies or patios. Day 2: Ski in Les Portes du Soleil

Dive straight into Switzerland’s world-class skiing with a full day to ski in Les Portes du Soleil. This Swiss-French ski area connects 12 resorts with over 200 lifts and around 600 kilometers of slopes. Ski runs range from beginner to expert, ensuring that everyone can enjoy their time here. If you’re not interested in skiing, the area offers ample opportunities for winter hiking and walking trails, sledding, or simply exploring the village.

At the end of the day, cozy up with a hot chocolate or warm up in your hotel’s spa.

Day 3: Snowshoeing and Bell Foundry Tour

Today begins with a 3.7 mile (approx. 3.5 hour) snowshoe walk near the picturesque village of Champoussin, at one of the highest points in Val d’Illiez. The route offers unparalleled views of the Dents du Midi mountain range, the Vaud Alps, and the Rhone Valley. It winds over snow-covered pastures and through tranquil forests. Towards the end of the route, you’ll pass the picturesque chapel of Champoussin and can enjoy refreshments on the sunny terrace of a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of a traditional bell foundry. This family-run foundry is one of the last traditional bell casters in Switzerland. Learn how they cast and forge cowbells out of brass and iron entirely by hand, using methods that have been handed down for over a century.

Day 4: Martigny Musum, Sion City Tour, and Train Journey to Crans-Montana

Say goodbye to Champéry and transfer 30 minutes to the nearby village of Martigny, where you’ll tour the Fondation Pierre Gianadda. This museum offers a range of attractions from archaeological exhibitions, a vintage car and sculpture park to art collections and concerts.

Afterwards, another 30-minute transfer brings you to magnificent old town of Sion, located in the Rhône valley. Enjoy an afternoon city tour as you learn about this town’s 7,000 years of history, including 5,000-year-old Stone Age dolmens, to one of the largest Celtic cemeteries. Visit the hill of Valère, home to a thousand-year-old basilica with one of the oldest playable organs, and Tourbillon Hill with the ruins of a 13th-century bishops’ castle. The medieval old town features the 15th-century Notre-Dame-du-Glarier cathedral and the historic Hexenturm (Witches’ Tower).

After an apertif, hop on a scenic 1.5 hour train journey that will bring you to your destination for the next two nights, the jaw-dropping mountain resort of Crans-Montana.

The Chetzeron Hotel is an architectural masterpiece at 2112 meters above sea level, high above the Rhone Valley with a magnificent view from the Matterhorn to Mont Blanc. The former mountain station has been converted into a boutique hotel with the Minergie-Eco standard, with 16 junior suites and rooms in an urban-alpine style, a spa area, meditation room, lobby with fireplace, bar and 3 restaurants, and of course a ski-in and ski-out experience in winter.

Day 5: Ski Crans-Montana

At an altitude of 1,500 to 3,000 meters above sea level, the south-facing ski resort of Crans-Montana offers 140 kilometers of marked slopes and breathtaking panoramic views. The varied slopes for all levels extend from the mountain tops over the Plaine Morte glacier to the golf on the “Haut-Plateau.” The resort is also famous for the World Cup ski races that take place here, high above the Rhone Valley, every winter.

Day 6: Skiing, Raclette & Wine Tasting, and Train to Zermatt

Spend the morning taking advantage of hitting the slopes one last time or enjoy the hotel’s spa or sauna at leisure before bidding farewell and boarding a train to Sierre.

Upon arrival in this historic town, surrounded by a ring of mountains and vineyards, you’ll wander its quaint streets to Château de Villa. In this centuries-old castle you’ll enjoy an authentic raclette, featuring a selection of cheeses from the Valais, combined with a wine tasting of the fine Valais wines that thrive in the vineyards just behind the castle.

Afterwards, board another train and travel 1.5 hours to Zermatt, your home for the next three nights. Located at the base of the Matterhorn and adorned with charming café-lined streets, upscale shops, traditional chalets, and fine restaurants, Zermatt is a winter fairytale come to life.

Day 7: Ski Zermatt

The ski areas of Zermatt offer an impressive variety of slopes and reach up to 3,883 meters, making it one of the highest ski areas in the Alps. A special highlight is the possibility to ski from Zermatt over the Klein Matterhorn to Italy to the Cervinia/Valtournenche ski area, which enables cross-border skiing fun. With a total of over 360 kilometers of slopes, there are routes for every ability, from gentle descents to challenging glacier slopes. In addition, the breathtaking views of the Matterhorn and the numerous cozy mountain huts and restaurants offer an unforgettable experience.

Day 8: Sledding and Cheese Tasting

Today, go sledding on the highest sled run in the Alps. Running through a stunning mountain landscape, the run starts at Rotenboden station and goes down to Riffelberg. You will be moving through an alpine landscape, surrounded by 29 four-thousand-meter peaks, including the Matterhorn. Take as many sled rides as you like between Rotenboden and Riffelberg, or combine a sled ride with a visit to the Gornergrat vantage point.

Afterwards, head to Horu Käserei, a dairy farm known for its exceptional cheese products. Sample Zermatt cheeses as you learn about the history of this local institution.

Return to your hotel in Zermatt and have the rest of the day to relax or explore at your leisure.

Day 9: Geneva and Departure

Bid farewell to Zermatt and board a train for a four hour journey to Geneva, Switzerland’s second largest city after Zurich. The city at the western tip of Lake Geneva, surrounded by the Jura and the Alps.

Upon arrival in Geneva, set out on a guided city tour. Explore Geneva’s charming old town, home to the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre and the Reformers’ Wall honoring key figures of the Reformation. Visit the artistic Carouge district, admire the iconic Jet d’Eau, and discover international Geneva with landmarks like the UN’s Palais des Nations and the Red Cross headquarters.

After the tour, you’ll be taken to the airport to catch your departing flight.
