Day 1: Arrival Jakarta

Welcome to Indonesia! After clearing immigration at the airport, you will be met by your private guide, who will be waiting with a sign bearing your name. From here, transfer to your nearby airport hotel to check in and settle in after your journey. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 2: Journey to Tanjung Puting National Park

This morning you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Pangkalan Bun. On arrival, meet the boat staff and continue to Kumai, where you will board your renovated klotok, a traditional wooden riverboat designed for comfortable cruising. Each vessel features air-conditioned ensuite cabins, a shaded viewing deck, and a dedicated crew, including your English-speaking guide.

Sail upriver into Tanjung Puting National Park, pausing first at Tanjung Harapan, an orangutan rehabilitation center. After a short walk through the forest, witness orangutans gathering at the feeding platform. Day 3: Orangutans in the Jungle

Enjoy breakfast on deck as your klotok cruises slowly upriver, watching for wildlife along the forested banks. Turning from the wide Sekonyer River into a narrow blackwater canal, you’ll glide deeper into the rainforest toward Camp Leakey, a renowned orangutan research and rehabilitation center.

On arrival, follow boardwalks into the forest to the feeding area, where orangutans swing through the treetops to the calls of the rangers. Continue walking with your guide to spot more of these great apes in their natural habitat before returning to the boat.

Back aboard, resume your gentle downstream journey, keeping watch for monkeys, birds, and other wildlife along the way. This evening, tie up in a quiet stretch of river and enjoy a peaceful overnight surrounded by the sounds of the forest.

Day 4: From the Rainforest to Magelang

Enjoy breakfast on board as your klotok makes its final cruise along the Sekonyer River, offering one last chance to spot wildlife along the mangrove-lined banks. After lunch, disembark at Kumai port and transfer to Pangkalan Bun Airport for your flight to Semarang.

On arrival, meet your guide and continue by road to Magelang, a two-and-a-half-hour drive through Central Java’s volcanic landscapes. Nestled between the peaks of Merapi, Merbabu, Sumbing, and Sindoro, Magelang is a welcoming town and the gateway to the sacred 9th-century Borobudur Temple. The city also played a role in Indonesia’s independence movement and honors its famed resistance leader, Pangeran Diponegoro, with a dedicated museum and statue in the main square.

Day 10: Rice Terraces, Mountain Gardens, and Highland Villages

Say goodbye to Ubud and travel north toward the highland village of Munduk. Along the way you will stop at Jatiluwih, a UNESCO-recognized cultural landscape, where sweeping rice terraces stretch beneath the peaks of Mount Batukaru and Mount Agung.

You will then continue to Bedugul for a picnic at Indonesia’s largest botanical garden, perched 1,300 meters above sea level and overlooking Bratan Lake and the Ulun Danu Temple. Here you will set out on a hike of two to three hours, beginning with a walk through plantations of clove, cocoa, coffee, and nutmeg trees before reaching sweeping views of the rice terraces. The trail continues to a waterfall where you may pause to relax before returning to visit a local villager’s home and learn how palm sugar is made, tasting it fresh from the source. You will then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to your hotel in Tabanan.

Day 14: Flight to Flores and Sailing the Komodo Islands

This morning you will fly from Bali to Flores, where you will be met and transferred to Labuan Bajo harbour to embark on a three-day, two-night journey aboard a modern phinisi yacht.

Your adventure begins at Kelor Island, where you may take a short hike or swim before enjoying lunch onboard. In the afternoon you will stop at Manjerite for marine exploration and continue to Pink Rock for snorkeling and paddleboarding among vibrant coral reefs. As the sun sets, you will witness thousands of flying foxes taking flight over Kalong Island before returning to the yacht for dinner and an overnight anchorage near Padar Island.
