While Lisa enjoys traveling everywhere, Asia has acted as a home base since her family moved to Yokosuka, Japan when she was seven. Growing up in Japan has cultivated a love for train travel and train adventures are often the focal point of her personal journeys. Before joining Vaya Adventures, Lisa spent over a decade curating international education-focused tours for the Institute of International Education (IIE) and The University of Puget Sound. As an educator, she believes that learning and travel are two parts of a whole. Apart from Japan, she has lived in Fuzhou, China, Yogyakarta, Indonesia and Antananarivo, Madagascar. Long walks, cooking, and studying languages are right up there with travel among Lisa's favorite things to do.
